Sheena Monk is ok after this corkscrew incident, awake they say so far . Not sure what the issue was, brake failure I would guess. I think some tecpro would be better, some tires in front of a wall and a fence still at that track....

I’ve played enough Forza to know that they should have rammed that blue car to slow down...

The commentator said the same thing and I’m not sure if he was joking.

Maybe I’m seeing things, but it looks like the front tires left a skid on the pavement, and they were throwing up sand right before impact. Maybe it was a stuck throttle?

Definitely leaves a skidmark. Can’t pause a gif, but if you watch it enough times you can see a mark after the car that’s not there before it.

Autoweek suggested it was a brake failure, maybe it started to brake and then just fried them. She is awake, they didn’t say anything about other physical injury.

I assume they are carbon ceramic brakes, maybe they locked up from a malfunction or overheating and then just blew without slowing the car down much.

Thankfully it wasn’t as ba d as it could have been. A lmost 19 years to the day that Gonzalo Rodríguez was killed in a crash at the corkscrew.

Straight in is about the best odds . The front of the car is the strongest and what the Hans and the belts are intended to protect. Hope it worked out.
