Looks like a mish mash of GMC and Ford styling to me. So is it based on the Sorrento or the new Hyundai Santa Fe or all they all the same. Is the Hyundai Palisade or something the equivalent cousin? and is there a Genesis version of this as well?

Telluride and Palisade are the same platform. The 2016 concept was based on a modified Sorento platform.
However, both Hyundai and Kia are going for a ladder framed pick up for 2020/21 and it would make sense if this thing had that new platform especially given the short timing...it would also share driveline as well.

The boxy styling and narrower grill of the concept looked much better
Here’s one without all the slapped one crap
As usual it looks much more boring and generic than the concept. The original was tough and sharp. this one looks like every other SUV blob.
