The three steam tractors pulling that trailer are what I would call a real road train.

T he Tank Museum is without a doubt my most cherished memory of visiting the UK. Don’t tell my girlfriend though, she thinks it was us sharing a first kiss in Cardiff.

If you watch you’ll see two lots like that, one has two tractors pull while the third pushes, while the second lot has two steam trucks pull and a third truck pushes.
The steam engine tractors are one thing, but looking at those steam engined trucks, that's something else.

Lol.
Next time your over you’ll have to do the RAF museum and the RAF church in London, then head up to Yorkshire, to see Eden Camp WWII war museum and then to York to the Train Mu seum and the Yorvik, York V iking centre.
If you like steam and trains, you'll be in heaven at the Train Museum.

It was fun seeing ordinary new cars drive past the convoy giving a contrast.

That is just brilliant! Steam power is such a dynamic way of getting things done. If I saw that coming down the road I might poo my self a little though
My folks live just a few miles from where the big steam power show is in Minnesota. My dad volunteers most years. Seeing those big old tractors on the move is very impressive.

It’s hard to imagine that these engines would of been working all over the country and large sections of the world just going about their business and people not batting an eye to one coming down the road. And that many were still doing their jobs up until the 70s and 80s.
In fact there is a steam engine here in Cumbria that is still working to this day to power a mill that makes 'snuff' for The Houses of Parliament and the public.

oh yeah, most of those were on my list when I was there but a combination of gastro and compromising meant I missed out,
I liked Bovington cause they all but encouraged hands on and the old timers volunteering were top notch
, definitely gonna head back when they’re doing one of their shows.
