A trip to the town of Imber in the
Salisbury Plain
, evacuated by the British Army in 1943 to provide training grounds to American Forces. Imber is accessible
during select days, of which All The Stations went via Routemaster.

It takes me right back to my youth. Getting the bus into town with my mother, pleading with her to let us go upstairs and sit at the front and being disappointed finding someone already sat there.
My auntie Margaret
was a conductor on a Routemaster and I remember those ticket machines fondly.
