Probably still listed for too much. High mileage, no records from 1996 to the 2015, not great condition on the inside, etc.

Beautiful cars. They are the first Ferrari that many of my generation really knew. I’d love to have it but I have to be honest, I wouldn’t buy it. I know it will probably appreciate like crazy and it’s so pretty but that service would be hanging over me the whole time Sword of Damocles like. I know it’s boring but for the same money I’d probably get this https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1966/chevrolet/corvette/101019492

Ugh, why does a major service cost $16k, and even at an indie shop?

Al l those things make it a car I could actually drive though. A lot of these Ferraris are at such low mileage and high documentation that you can’t enjoy them. But this one is in a condition and price point where I don’t think another couple thousand miles will hurt anything.

I also think, at that price,   you could break even between the ownership costs and resale if you keep it another 3 years. Hits my tastes, anyways.

it’s def a great candidate for a driver. It’s nice to actually see one that was used. higher mileage cars are normally better sorted so it’s not a detractor in my eyes, but the market it weird. Most people, even if they pan on driving a lot, put more than a few thousand miles a year on them. So even low mileage cars command a premium because they will all stay relatively low mileage.

I swear that these and the chrome bumper C3s are some how becoming more attractive over time. I thought they were maxed out years ago...

I know, I puckered when I saw that. Ma intenance costs are always harder to find out t han repair costs online. It also feels like maintenance prices appreciate faster than repair prices.

Not worth it to me, but I don’t understand the recent appreciation of bad Ferraris lately . Also, after watching some Magnum PI clips on youtube, the car looks incredibly small.

US$16,000 for the timing belt service?

I recall reading on a couple of different Ferrari forums that the timing belt service, goes for more like US $3000-5000 range... and that’s with replacing other stuff like the water pump at the same time.

https://www.ferrarilife.com/forums/pre-99-v8s-gt4/7439-cost-various-308-repairs.html

Sounds like the current owner got ripped off Taormina.... or there was a lot more work that was done than a simple timing belt change.

Possibly the “timing belt service” was actually an engine rebuild due to the timing belt snapping.

And saying “rebuilt engine” just might hurt the sales value.
