Told my neighbour I’d do his car today. He parked over my side and forgot to leave a set of car keys when he went shopping.
So just a Degreaser and wheel cleaner, rinse, snow foam shampoo and rinse,
Snow foamed CarPro Hydrofoam onto the car,
Leave for a minute or t wo, then rinse,
Dried with Gyeon Cure.
Dressed the tyres and had to call it a day.
Nothing fantastic but filled in half an hour.

Had me excited, for a second I thought you had bought an eos.

I really should get myself some proper car washing supplies. That stuff you use looks like it works very well.

No, it’s not my thing. It’s nice and all but not for me.
I’d take a Scirocco over an Eos.
or a Polo.

It really does.
And it’s not just because it’s on a silver metallic car, as I use the same stuff on a black solid colour car.

Oooh, I forget about the scirocco because we don’t have it here. Seems like it would sell.

Apparently not here either. They stopped making it earlier this year. :(
And the metallic viper green colour, they discontinued over a year ago or so.
But I still like it and want one.

Any idea where a person could buy that stuff in Canada?
I had a quick look online, and the nearest place I see is $30 for a 1 L bottle, and it’d be a 2.5 hour drive to go get it. Another place wants $45 for a 1 L bottle. I don’t suppose it’s much cheaper over there?

Autogeek sell it but it’s about the same price.
https://www.autogeek.net/carpro-cquartz-products.html
Here it’s 500ml for £14.99, 1ltr for 24.99 and 5ltr for £99.99.
It dilutes down 9:1 for application, but a good general shampoo (such as Gyeon Bathe and Gtechniq Gwash, which leave no gloss enhancers but also don’t degrade sealants, coatings or waxes or hinder the ability of those LSPs) and a drying aid (such as CarPro Reload, Gtechniq C2v3, Gyeon Cure).
It’s best applied via a snow foam lance, you can applied it via a foam sprayer.
Can I ask.
How is it you wash the car? do you use a pressure washer? two buckets? how often? do you enjoy doing it or is it a chore? do you take time to do it or prefer to get it done and then go do something else? is your car light coloured or dark?

They have it for $26.99. You’ll have to check on postage.
It’s limited on what’s available stateside but their Autowheels, Korrosol, Autowash and Surfex are fantastic products.

I am slightly ashamed to answer your questions. :P
It’s a 2001 Honda Civic with 277,000 km on it. I’ve owned it for 10 years, and have put on ~198,000 of those km, so it’s definitely been some crazy places. I don’t usually wash it very often - maybe twice a year (usually to get road salt off of it in the spring, then maybe once in the summer). Up until now I’ve only been using dish soap, but you’ve inspired me to treat it better and to do a proper (or at least better) job of it. The paint definitely isn’t perfect (I’ve got a few tiny rust spots in various places), so I’m not needing anything too insane. Mrs. BaconSandwich picked up some proper car soap, soft cloths, cleaning brushes, and Gunk engine degreaser. I figure if I’m going to keep the car another 2-3 years, I should probably take better care of it. Someone linked me to the “ChrisFix” video where he cleans engine bays, and I’ve started with a dry cleaning. My goal is to at least get the inside and engine bay and the interior cleaned up before winter.
EDIT: I just realized I didn’t answer all your questions. The car is silver/gray in color. My current washing method involves a bucket filled with warm water and dish soap, and a rag. I give it a good scrubbing all over (usually top to bottom, leaving the dirtiest bits for last), then hose it off. In the past, it’s been more of a chore, but I want to try doing a better job of it going forward. I’ll also eventually need to wash the van (2007 Toyota Sienna), and since it is newer/better condition, I may as well practice on the Civic and learn to do it right before doing a bigger vehicle.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the engine bay but certainly the exterior will love you for it and keeping the interior clean will help prolong the life of the materials within.
Okay. From that I deduce Gyeon Bathe+ may be most suitable. It’s a car shampoo that contains an Si02 sealant (sort of a much improved modern day wash’n’wax),or use Gyeon Bathe shampoo then from time to time use the Gyeon Wetcoat afterwards.
Gyeon Bathe+
or
Gyeon Bathe followed by Gyeon Wetcoat
An alternate way would be a good shampoo that leaves nothing behind such as Gtechniq Gwash, Gyeon Bathe, CarPro Reset car shampoos (they contain no gloss enhancers, no polymers or wax), they leave nothing behind in the way of dirt or anything that would hinder the life of a coating or sealant whilst also no damaging the coating or sealant.
Gtechniq Gwash (you’ll notice they are using a Gilmore type of foam lance, this is an okay foam lance for people without a pressure washer, but by it’s general nature you would get any thick foam from it, for thicker fuller foam use a PA Foam Lance or Foam Canon).
rinse off, then follow up with CarPro Hydrofoam.
The video below is using CarPro Reset (shampoo) and CarPro Hydrofoam (to seal).
((if the car is only very lightly soiled you can use the Hydrofoam as a shampoo and a sealant (like a wash’n’wax) for time saving))
If you don’t want all the gadgets and lances, etc...
Go the shampoo, followed by sealant (such as Gtechniq C2v3, CarPro Reload, Gyeon cure, etc... which you can use as a drying aid, quick detailer or a standalone sealant.
