I don’t want any of this but I’ve been heavily back into bodybuilding since my knee recovered, and am considering getting back into physique competitions, or trying powerlifting. Either way ... Boi gotta eat. It’s absolutely draining eating nonstop everyday for months on end. But it would be even worse to give up.

Back in the day, when I was taking enough steroids to get an elephant jacked, I was eating about five pounds of chicken, a coupl e pounds of broccoli and veggies, a mixing bowl full of oatmeal, a dozen eggs and at least four protein shakes EVERY Day... It was awesome being 280 pounds of monster. Bench pressing 455 for reps, 1600 pounds on the leg press, and a neck Paul Bunyan would have been jealous of, lol... But now, at almost 45, I’m back down to 235, shooting for 215 by Christmas. I love eating, but those days it was a straight up chore.

And lose the comical element of me trying to squeeze into and out of the roadster? No thank you

Good point. And if you aren’t using ‘roids, there will be less desire for a truck.

Nope, not as far as systems go. Liver, kidneys, heart, testosterone production, that’s all fine. My shoulders and knees are a mess from lifting that kind of weight, and carrying 280 pounds on a 5 foot 11 frame. I was stuck at about 255 without the gear, so I decided to give it a go, making a deal with myself that no matter how much I liked it, I would not do more than a couple of cycles. First cycle got me to 270 and around a 20% strength increa se in three months. Second was a four month cycle that got me to 280 and as strong as I’ve ever been. Third was purely for fun, maxed my weight at 285, but was really leaned out. Str iations and vascularity for days and days! My veins had veins, bro!
Got off the juice and lost twenty pounds of muscle mass in a year, then got injured and spent seven years or so out of the gym. Ended up a tubby 260 by April of this year. BUT... I’ve been back in the gym and watching my diet and I’ve lost 22 pounds and resurrected my pectorals, lol! My son is a stud wrestler, thirteen years old, and he spent all summer in the gym with me so it’ s been great having a partner who wants to get jacked but remain fast and limber. I might actually attempt to wrestle in a senior division tournament next spring at this rate!

And as a side note, “roid rage” is bullshit. The only real side effect mentally was that my fight or flight was broken. I was a bouncer for almost twenty years, and was usually pretty good about risk assessment when it came to confrontations or hands-on events, but when I was on the juice, NOTHING scared me.

Bro trucks are by far my biggest automotive hate. The closest I'd get would be an overland Tacoma or Maaaaaybe a Ranger raptor.

People think it’s the lifting that gets you, but it’s the constant eating that’s physically and mentally exhausting. Two summers ago I was working 50+ hours a week in 90+ degree heat washing windows. Eating 10 eggs a day, couple sweet potatoes, multiple shakes, etc. Basically every moment I wasn’t working, I was eating. And I still couldn’t keep up. I was losing 10lbs a month. Now that I have a desk job it's so much easier.
455 for reps... Yep. That would work. And here I am at 200, shooting for 215 by Christmas! Same goal, just a different direction

Nice. I watched Born Strong a while back, and it was interesting hearing Eddie Hall talk about how staying at 400 lbs for too long would surely kill him.
500 kilos! Insane. Glad he didn’t leave his wife a widow and his kids fatherless.

Interesting. So it doesn’t make you angrier , per se, but if you fear nothing, it does sound like it means that the odds of confrontation goes up.

The odds of confrontation only went up because I was in a job that placed me in confrontational situations. It wasn’t that I wanted to fight (I took great pride in being able to talk a crazy or a drunk out of the bar without going hands on) , it was just that maybe when there were two guys, I wouldn’t wait for backup, or when I got hurt it wasn’t enough to scare me out of the fight. In my regular job and life outside of the bar, I never once had a confrontation or temper or anything. I was usually too full from eating, or too tired from lifting twice a day...

Fortunately they are rare here, at least in more developed areas. Not nearly as bad as Orange County, any oil areas anywhere, etc. Seeing one driving in Bellevue screams that the person is visiting from Enumclaw.
I think the local equivalent is either a decked out Jeep with an angry face, or maybe the right Toyota :)
