Acura hit it out of the park with this one. Yes yes, the badge is massive, but other than that.... Gorgeous. Good blue paint, red leather interior. Looks a lot more high-end than you’d expect from an Acura.

I’m considering picking one up after I pay the TL off.

Nobody will ever make sedans and coupes like that again unfortunately. But for an SUV, or full-sized crossover or whatever we’re calling it... That Acura was slick. I would love to see it next to Mazda’s newest in their fancy red (the only other competitor that I think punches above their  weight class stylistically) and offerings from Porsche and Alfa.

My favorite Acura in a loooong time. The wonders a dedicated platform that’s not shared with a freakin CR-V can do for a luxury vehicle...

The badge is actually too huge for me to get over. Reminds me of when people do this to used Mercs:

Kinja'd!!!

Too huge and out of place.

I like cars that have colorful paint. This is a rarity these days.

The first-gen TSX and its matching bigger contemporary sibling TL were the last unequivacably “good” looking Acuras, with honorable mention to the forgettable last few non-beaked RLs. Everything since has been awkward, overwrought, and silly, to the point that they’re just barely above repulsive

The blue is nice.

The rest of the car, though... More angles than a Picasso painting. It looks too derivative of a Ford Edge, but roght before it got the final stamp of approval they added some extra zigs, zags, and flourishes to make it less obviously “inspired by”.

I suspect few will buy these (is it an RDX or MDD? Does it really matter?) . I see more Lincolns, Land Rovers, and Volvos on the roads nowadays than I do Acuras, and I work one street over from a sizeable Acura dealership.

Seems like everyone’s badges are getting bigger these days. Not sure how much of that is because brands want to advertise, how much is because buyers want to show off that they can afford luxury brands, and how much is just because a big badge is a good place to hide sensors for adaptive cruise control, auto braking, etc.

My sister had a Vigor that she used to let me  drive, brand new and everything! She has a really nice Integra before that got totaled by a red light runner. Great cars.

Interesting. But I still wouldn't touch the newer cars because of their smartphone-ization.  That aside, next time you hit the mountains, let me know so I can come with. :p

Angles? I don’t know... What really sets it apart to me is how smooth and fluid it is, it’s like the opposite of the 10-million- angle Lexus offerings. I see what you’re saying about the Edge but... Man. The details come together so much better here.

I haven’t seen many of these, but I think it’s a new model? Wait... Did you say “Lincolns?” Volvos and Land Rovers, yes. I can’t recall the last time i saw a new Lincoln outside of a C ontinental a few weeks ago.

It was a very nice blue. Q uite metallic, lots of saturation. The red leather made for a nice combo

Red leather in a bright blue car?

I’m sorry, but that sounds disgusting IMO.

Not sure I’d call red leather high end either. More boy racer IMO.

I get where you’re coming from: Overall it’s more restrained than Lexus’ and Nissan’s latest offerings, and as a whole shape it’s inoffensive generic-crossover. Once I see the details - like how the lower edges of the grille have an angle that clashes with the lower edges of the headlights rather than being collinear or parallel, or doing more with the front bumper cover to enhance that the lines aren’t collinear/ parallel, which would be negated by the arc that runs from the lower outside edge of the headlamps to the bottom of the grille - the overall aesthetic is ruined. Forest versus trees, as the saying goes.

I think I’d like driving the RDX more, but with the Ridgeli ne I could consolidate 2 vehicles down to 1. It also has the tried and true V6 and 6 spd, who knows how reliable that 10 spd will be. The RDX has ventilated sea ts as an option, and the honda sensing is much better than in the Ridgeline. One major difference is low speed active cruise  control, which the Ridgeline doesn't have.

My wife and I saw a new Ford Super Duty the other day and she was like, “Can you make that badge a little bigger? I can’t see it from the moon yet. ”.
