Sadly, Orson does not appear in this movie (that I know of). But John Huston is always good. And it’s weird seeing a young Bogdanovich.

Weird seeing it at all - even in the trailer I can see bits that look like Chinatown, Easy Rider, Three Days of the Condor ... other dark movies. And I loves me some dark.

I’ve seen a few scenes from it before, bits and pieces have been floating around for decades and have been used in various documentaries. It’s wild though to think that it’s finally been edited together into a
complete cut. I’ve always appreciated Welles, not as a “genius” or an artist (most of
the popular perception of his outsized ego has little to do with the reality of the man) but as a guy who loved and obsessed over film. He would have been much richer if he had focused on acting and given up trying to direct. But he was driven to make, and I can appreciate that.
