There’s something about the overall proportions and greenhouse, especially on late examples. The taillights do it, too.

If the Tercel was a hatchback like the 318 ti, that would have been groovy. Instead we got a sedan, a coupe, and a squishy coupe (Paseo). Oh, and a squishy convertible.

Hey, it’s still a lot more interesting than what Toyota has foisted on us over the past 15 or so years. Can you imagine a compact convertible today?
Tercel was a cheap unexciting car, but it was honest. No faux-aggression.
