1. Not how depression works
2. Depression and mental illness is not a joke

Is this like your 10th “Versa Bad” post?
You seem to have a personal vendetta against it. Had to rent one far too many times eh?

That’s the power of comedy. You can take the absolute worst things going on in the world and make it humorous. Whether that’s depression, cancer, death, modern-day Nissan or whatever...
Always irks me when people have that “one thing” you can’t joke about

You hate for good reason. It’s one of the most miserable cars I have ever driven.
My dealer put me in one when I brought the allroad in for a recall. T he cheapest car on the Enterprise lot. And it was filthy. I had plenty of ugly words for them when I got my car back.

I guess Nissan is a curse around here. You either get loaded on Versa posts or Juke posts, lol.

I still like the Versa, but I grew up in cars that were much crappier in the 80s and 90s, and adjusted for inflation were about 2x-3x the price.
(Hint: that was
MOST CARS in the 70s,
80s and 90s)

I’m not disagreeing with anything here, though. I have lousy taste, but I like my lousy taste. I’m the person at the party drinking B&J as a 40+ year old with ALL THE PINEAPPLE on my pizza.

The base standard for cars now is so high, that even mediocre cars now feel like trash.

I actually kinda liked the previous gen one (and the Tiida name). The current one? Kill it with fire! Can’t even option it to be anything but awful. They’re also everywhere! I have an uncle and an aunt with one!

It's a $13,000 car in the year 2018. What's the expectation here?

I respect the Versa. I’ve had them as bargain-basement rentals a couple times, and actually, the steering is very nice. It’s also very roomy inside.
C&D’s comment about saving up a couple grand to buy something else does not acknowledge the reality of who’s buying brand new Nissan Versas. It’s the car for people who want a Brand New Car with a warranty, that can fit real people in it, and is as cheap as possible.
Starting MSRPs...
Nissan Versa - $12,310
Chevy Spark - $13,050
Mitsubishi Mirage
- $13,395
Kia Rio - $13,900
Ford Fiesta - $14,205
Fiat 500 - $14,995
Hyundai Accent - $14,995
Chevy Sonic - $15,295
Toyota Yaris - $15,635
Honda Fit - $16,910
The Versa is straight up spacious inside compared to most everything else on this list. What else should someone who wants/needs a properly usable back seat choose beside the Versa? Maybe the Fit with its clever packaging is similarly roomy but its starting price is way higher. The Versa Note price is a lot closer to the Fit than the Versa sedan, but still cheaper.

Comedians know and often say that any joke worth telling will offend someone. That doesn’t mean the person who is offended is bad or has no sense of humor , of course. It usually means that the subject has touched them personally. People who just had a family member stricken with Alzheimer’s, for instance, will not find an Alzheimer’s joke funny. Nor should they. The best you can do is be as sensitive as possible to the audience at hand and for the rest, let the chips fall where they may.
The alternative is a life with no jokes. And that truly is depressing beyond the ability of medication to fix.

I have a 2012 Versa that I find surprisingly okay and nimble each time I drive it. I think you should move on from this unless someone has killed you and stuffed your corpse into a Versa.

An illness that makes people kill themselves compared to driving a car that is boring. It minimizes the effects and severity of the illness and the effects it has on people who have it. I’m not saying all jokes are bad and that comedy can’t exist.
If someone made a joke t hat they would rather have a brain tumor removed removed and have chemo therapy and a lifetime of health issues and challenges from it than drive the Nissan that wouldn’t be received well but t he person who pointed it out wouldn’t be told they are ruining comedy for everyone and can’t take a joke.

me h, my wife actually thinks the Versa was more comfortable to ride in than the Lexus. Plus the Versa has sooooo so much ore room than the Lexus. The Versa was also the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. ( well up until the CVT blew up at 109k miles.) But man did it suck to drive
