2 things in the span of 10 seconds irked me today
1) A guy with a very new Challenger looking very much the worst stereotype you could associate with a Challenger , sporting the plate

I really wanted to be the one to break it to him, but he left while I was dealing with my 2nd issue
2) Twice in a week, there’s been a car parked in the motorcycle-only parking. Same car, a vendor for a garbage new-age canned drink. Last time, I managed to park next to the passenger door, as there was room on the end. This time he managed to park crooked so I could not. I left him a nastygram with instructions to call me, and parked him in. Instead he moved my bike out of the way, thinking I wouldn’t see him. I did.
Upon confrontation, this is clearly a kid trying to make money while going to college, and is terrified. But his defense was literally, “what, am I supposed to read the signs every time I park?” I gave him a resounding yes and sent him on his way.
I just can’t people today. I need to get a hoodie, some sunglasses, and my headphones, and recede into a cave of my own making at my desk.

I’ve discovered that people in downtown Houston just don’t give a crap about anybody else and park/block traffic just about everywhere. For example, I want to go into the parking lot, but some butthead is blocking the entrance (and coincidentally, the sidewalk) because she stopped there to drop someone off. What?!? You couldn’t just stop in the parking lot to do your dropoff?
Every day someone just stops in the outermost lane ( left or right on the one-way streets) , throws on their hazards, and blocks traffic while they load/unload their car . Jeez people, you won’t have to pay for parking if you just pull into the parallel parking spot long enough to take care of your unloading. The worst are the vendors - they block one lane with their truck, then block the adjacent lane as they unload from the side instead of the back.

When I was working for the Marines; some Marine parked in our pregnant lady’s spot.
The SGT Major lost his absolute shit. He was howling up and down the hallway and everyone who didn’t outrank him was running around trying to find this individual. It was one of those situations where the Colonel and General just lock their door...as they don’t want any part of this.
So this is when I leave my desk...just to observe....
An hour goes by and the dude isn’t found, but a Staff SGT is posted by the Jeep to hold the dude in place till the SGT Major can arrive.
Turns out to be a visiting Captain, who technically outranks the SGT Major, but there are those cases where position is the important part...
The SGT Major threatened to revoke the Captain’s base driving privileges
....so he knew to pay attention from there on out and don’t fuck with a SGT Major.
I really thought after 30 minutes they were going to pick the car up and throw it in a lake.

My last day working at a mall in college some guy blocked my bike in with his stupid Harley chopper. I walked his bike to the middle of the travel lane. Felt good.
