Heck of an improvement!
How difficult did you find it to lay the fabric wrinkle-free?

Extremely difficult. Basically, our strategy was to get the flat parts to look pretty and strategically crease the corners. We used safety pins to “ pre-pleat” the tough spots, but it still got messy around the curves. It looks 10,000x better than it did, so I’m happy.

Nicely done. I recovered the lid to an old toy box with spray glue and fabric, and though it came out ok, I regret not saying yes when my wife asked if I needed any help. I can only imagine how much fun that headliner was.

I definitely needed a second set of hands for this one. It was a fun couple’s proj ect with minimal yelling. It was just nerve wracking because you only had one shot, the glue would bond instantly as soon as the fabric touched the hardboard.

Do the kits come with a helpful young lady?
I need to do this with our 05 Mini. It is falling apart. Looks like ass.

Sadly her labor was not included, it cost me dinner at local restaurant and cleaning the house.
Of all the things I’ve done on this car, this had the biggest impact on the astectics. Here’s one I did in my old Volvo 240 that was quite striking

Plaid Volvo 240 headliner hnnnggggg…
My Jaguar needs it done. Fortunately the moon roof is huge and the trim holds most of it up. It’s really not that bad even where it is bad in the back.

I got talked out of doing plaid on this one. I was gonna do burburry plaid or black and white houndstooth pattern, but I went more subdued. The Volvo (RIP) was a total beater and was subject to a lot of other goofy stuff. The rear parcel shelf was plaid and the speaker covers were as well.
