In case Kinja’d, apparently there’s been some acid spilled on British Columbia highways at various incidents
. Cars were driving through it without knowing, and now there’s a bunch of insurance claims as a result.
Moral of the story - don’t drive through acid?
I’m partially curious to know what industry uses large quantities of sulfuric acid. Maybe pulp and paper?

Sulphiric acid is used in fertilizers, phosphates, metal treatment, paper, and fabric manufacturing amongst other things. I've seen trains composed of nothing but tankers of sulphuric acid.

Most industries have sulfuric acid used at one point or another. It is one of the biggest commodity chemicals out there.
