2008 Honda CBF1000L. Abandoned at work for a dead fuel pump. Bike has 2680 KM on it.
Paid $1700 for it. Fuel pump is $1000 for a new OEM unit. going to see if I cant find a used one on ebay and have a beater for the commute.

$1000 for a fuel pump? What in the actual hell? Why?

I think honda only sells the whole assembly, not the pump seperate. hence the moron price.

That is just pure insanity to me. I know little to nothing about the things, but I’d pretend I did and try to rig up an inline or something before even thinking about spending that kind of dough on a pump.
Hope the used parts owners don't know what they have, for your sake.

Yeah even just the pump itself from Aprilia was $500 (not an assembly), but I fould a company that makes good aftermarket ones for $30

That’s a lot of coin for a pump assembly but I’ll never understand why people just abandon their stuff like this...
Surely you can remove and replace the pump from within the assembly?

Is this a one off pricey item or could you part this out for a considerable amount more than you paid?
