I wanted to believe that the scooter was DIY, built from an old jack & some spare parts. Probably not , with the two matching so well and looking so perfect. Still neat though.

the two-stroke oil one reminds me of when I was working at Jeep/Truck. at the time I had a 24V Cummins Ram, and I don’t know what it was about that engine but whenever you changed the oil (with Rotella) you could “smell” it for a few hundred miles after. maybe the crankcase ventilation let some the odor out. one of the millwrights in the tool crib sold small bottles of an additive which would turn that into a “lemony” scent. I don’t dump random crap in my vehicles, so I never tried it.

and what the hell happened to that rotor?  wrong pads cut the hat off?

I was thinking that maybe a shim slipped out and did the cutting, but apparently not :

The first shop neglected to replace and/or grease the sliding pins, so the rear pads were stuck against the rotor, heating one up enough to crack it.
