A young guy at work started driving this lately after reviving it. This TR6 hadn’t been driven in 9 years. The short list of things needed were fresh fuel, some hoses, oil , TLC and new clutch hydraulic bits. He loves it, however some of his peers can’t see the attraction. The car belonged to his dad who I’m sure is thrilled to see his old roadster   running again. Other than still needing some new redline tires and refreshing the brakes its in pretty fair condition.

Always loved the TR6 since I once owned an early TR4. Karmann did a awesome restyling of the original Michelotti design which  made this model so attractive and one of the best sellers of the TR models.

Tell him to get rebuilt calipers, hoses , and master now. They are cheap and the supply is dwindling. It doesn’t hurt to change that stuff every 40 years. It does hurt if they fail.

Beauty of a car. How can they not see that?  Good on him.

When my grandfather passed away my family ended up selling his Buick 3800 supercharged MG Midget, anytime I see an old British roadster I think of how I should have made an effort to hang on to that thing. Hope the guy keeps i t for awhile.

Good looks and also that inline-6 is MUSIC and you don’t even have to push it that hard.

I still want one, and wanted one even more after James May’s review:

“The blokiest bloke’s car ever built!”

Awesome :) love a good TR6.

Plenty to be done to wake American version up a bit performance-wise too :)

That's awesome! These are IMO the best looking British roadsters, by far.

I’ve always had a soft spot for these but have been terrified to jump in given the upkeep they require.

A neighbor a few houses down has one in BRG. Spoke with him the other day - guy has had the car since ‘92 and is doing a full restoration that is almost complete. Beautiful machine!

Dad here  a bunch of brake parts in hand.  Master was already sleeved.  Slow process of rebuilding and reworking.  Very proud of work done so far

Good. Approved by the guy who is slowly doing the same with his Alfa. The thing I’ve noticed is that things like rebuilt calipers are getting hard to get. Like 3 of one rear side on rock auto are all that is left.
