It seems that not only are stiffer springs for the Galaxie’s front quite cheap, and a 1"swaybar available, but there is a bolt-on rear swaybar available as well...

Do it~! Just make sure to size your sway bars correctly...or at least have them be adjustable. They’re going to make a noticeable change the behavior of that Galaxy, just be careful to balance them as to not create excessive understeer or oversteer!

Stock front anti-sway is a 5/8 or 7/8 bar, with no rear bar at all. Upgrade is 1" front, and rear is 3/4" or 7/8" with very long arms. Non adjustable, but apparently already established as a solution.

Most people racing one would have a midblock up front, not a 289, and not (obviously) be racing a sedan. I have hundreds of pounds more on the rear axle, and a hundred pounds less on the front. Combine with slightly stiffer springs up front, I very possibly don’t need a front upgrade at all to stay balanced - or would need to use a stock midblock sized bar.

I’m thinking 7/8 front and 3/4 rear. Weakest rear available and mild front.

Look at it this way, I’ve road rallied it with the guys and what max es out the sketchometer is the lack of brakes and front Evil Cranks, not any inherent lack of agility. Very slightly coarsening the ride quality is not a big thing either because I’ve got the Lincoln waiting in the wings.

Why not lightly period “performance pack” upgrade the handling and take advantage of the small block weight distribution and willingness to rev ? Slow car fast, sleeper rally sedan...

That sounds like a solid plan!

I approve that plan, sleeper sedan would be incredible.

What's the weight distribution of this setup?

I don’t know for a fact. Whatever it is, the design doctrine of the time was to have a softer relative springing in back so that the relative roll position of the body is dictated by the front almost entirely . The long rear overhang and wheels-forward design in front means it’s probably not too far from 50:50, but it’s not 50:50 like it would be understood for a modern car.

On the plus side, the long tail limits dynamic shift. On the negative side, the tail can somewhat wag the dog, because the rear grip  has little leverage. I don't think I want to make it too stiff in back, because it would likely mean breaking traction all at once.
