On the way home from my vacation in Tennessee I stopped by the Mercedes Benz Visitor Center in Alabama.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Workers just finished fixing the rotating logo. Even that needs work ;)

I was told I can take pics as much as I want, but I only had my phone on me so the pics aren’t the best quality and I has over 200 miles left to drive.

I was the only visitor there!

10/10 would hoon.

Every Oppo should come visit, just look for the exit sign for Mercedes drive in Vance Alabama. Theres even a factory tour, but you have to book it in advance. They make the SUVs and C class there.

I did go in the gift shop and although overpriced, I got a Maisto 1:18 GLK 350 suv.

It’s a cool place. I’ve only gone once and also had the factory tour but I liked the lobby the best.

Ironically, the GLK was not made there, since it was basically a C-Class wagon. Austria, IIRC.

This place has come a LONG way since the first few years the factory was open. It was like a few late-model Mercs, several race cars, and a couple Smarts. And that was it. You just went there to kill time before your tour.

Is it still free?

I haven’t been there in a long, long time. I’ve got so much free time on my hands in coming days I might make the trip out. Definitely looks like they’ve changed a few things.

Hey I've been there too! About two years ago now. Hasn't changed much. I had the factory tour, some track time, and a ride in the off road course. Good times. But I think most of that isn't open to the public. Mine was a work trip though.

Wow that sounds fun. By looking at the Google map I can see they have a test track. Would be awesome if they would take visitors on a ride in a AMG :D

Oh sorry our track time was actually Barber Motorsports park, just the off road part was at the factory.
