On this date, in 2004, Dave Matthews Tour Bus dumped 800 pounds of poop into the Chicago River. Unfortunately for them a tour boat happened to be sailing underneath the bridge at that exact moment, causing its passengers to experience the the worst flush of their lives

I went on one of those architectural tours when I was in Chicago. It was great fun and no poop was dropped on me. Honestly I think they got off pretty light all things considered.

I wonder what the fine would be for just dumping into the river without the numberous lay suits they hopefully faced for dumping it on people

well as it stood it was a 10K dollar fine, but honestly had they not dumped it on a boat and had nobody witnessed it they would have gotten away with it

It sounds like they ended up paying $100k to the city (which they might have had to pay regardless if they got caught), and a $200k settlement to the people they dumped on.
I sort of agree with Sampsonite though, if they hadn’t hit the boat, they probably don’t get caught, and even if they do, they probably don’t get penalized much, if at all.

Doing touristy things in Chicago is worth doing once in a while. I’ve taken that cruise and it’s kinda fun to learn a bit about the history while chilling on a boat.

absolutely, i love acting like a tourist every now and then. mainly cause i love the museums. fun fact my first time to the observation deck of the sears tower was only like 3-4 years ago.

They really were a shitty band, and couldn’t stop spreading their crap. You know urine trouble when brown stuff falls from.above.

I still haven’t been to the Sears Tower’s observation deck...however I did get to wave at people on the deck from inside a helicopter! lol

The Sears Tower deck is pretty cool - but the Hancock has a better angle (close to the shore), and helicopters/airplanes beat both!!
