Director David Gelb Jiro Dreams of Sushi tackles another venerable, beloved, and long-standing institution: the Mustang, crown jewel of the Ford fleet. As the fiftieth anniversary of the Mustang approaches and the US car industry is just emerging from the ravages of the Great Recession, Ford launches what is only its fifth redesign of the iconic Mustang since its debut in 1964. Now the expectations of thousands of Mustang devotees around the globe are all placed squarely on the shoulders of the Mustang engineering and design team. Chief Program Engineer Dave Pericak leads the charge from assembly floor to showroom - refining every minute detail - as the 2015 Mustang is put the test in the final days leading up to its internationally anticipated launch

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I was just looking for videos to learn more about what went into the new one.

I recommend it. In addition to the history and the people behind it for the last 5 0 years, Learned a lot about what goes into rolling out a new model in terms of planning design, , engineering, logistics, testing production and more.

That was just their description. Also the new GT was only 2004–2006 and then 2016–present so it is acceptable that the Mustang was their  best car in production be tween those years.

I knew it was just their blurb. The date gap does make it a little more sensible.

it was interesting from a history perspective, but I chuckled at how obviously re-enacted those “last minute issues” meetings were.

real  last minute “stop build/stop ship” events are nowhere near that calm.

I dunno, I’d say a high performance car that more than just 1%ers can buy is far more important than the GT.
