I’m waiting to see if the seller gets back to me... but I want this thing so bad. If it runs, and doesn’t have any major mechanical issues I’ll probably buy it. I’m hoping it’s something easy like old brakes and maybe an exhaust leak that I can do myself and then quickly register. The Eagle has lots of wo rk left to do and I’m tired of begging the wife to use her car and then taking the Husky every time she needs her car.

What all still needs done on the Eagle? Looks like it’s partway through some sort of not-quite 4.0 swap?

I yanked the 4.2L 258 motor out last year and had it completely remanufactured with a way more aggressive cam (one-ish step under drag-race) , bored it out, decked it down, new crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, bigger oil pump, biggest timing chain set that would fit under the cover, Edelbrock performance head with AFE stainless header and am converting it from a terrible Carter carb with miles of vacuum lines into a multi-point fuel injection setup.
It’s a bigger job than I was really prepared to grapple with. But I foolishly jumped full into this pool of lunacy for the 60+hp gains with better mileage that the Mopar kit is supposed to provide on a stock CJ/YJ engine. The kit requires a lot of work to install it properly and it’s a BIT over my head. But I’ve been plugging through it.
Tomorrow I’m going to go finish the exhaust which entailed chopping the end off the AFE header and moving it
about 8" up and over to join with the remainder of the stock exhaust system on the car where I had to add a 2.5" to 2"
tapered fitting.
I put a V
-band coupler on both ends, because why not
. To make them fit I need to add a little weirdly cut length of 2" pipe to the existing system to bring the couplers in-line. It’s made. Just gotta tack and weld it with my TIG.
Then install the intake and all the electrical goodies - BIG job still.
THEN have to source a YJ transferc ase speedometer cable housing adapter.
T H E N have to fix up some vacuum lines because the “circuit” is WAY off stock now.
T H E N prime the new fuel pump and system I installed last fall, throw in a new b attery and cross my fingers.
But in the meantime I would really love that Rampage. Plus a small truck would be handy once in a while.

I’m actually surprised they haven’t marketed something SUPER aggressive with the namesake. I mean they’ve hot the Hellcat / Demon thing going down. Rampage fits right in there. Throw it on a new car chassis even. Or make an aggressive CUV with their crazy blocks ... Rampage HellCat or Rampage Demon sounds pretty badass.
