I would drive the wheels off it. Other than the carbon issues, should be fine. Then again, you could get a B8 S4 and swing by APR for a tune and a pulley and be making more power on another solid powertrain. I had a ‘12 6mt S4 and drive it from 40k to 85k and it was dead reliable. And I cross shopped RS4s at the time too, but the carbon issues scared me off.

So what do I replace the S4 with? And S8 of course.... that’s not nearly as responsible as buying one of these. And after doing a carbon cleaning on the V10, I’d have no issue doing so on one of these. It’s really not too big a deal.

Problem with this one is going to be oil leaks. And oil cooler leaks.... as me how I know. I’d want a Blackstone oil sample report before purchase knowing what I know now about these cars, but I also wouldn’t get too scared.

I feel your pain. I could be driving an awesome car, but paying off our house, kid’s college fund, and saving for retirement take priority.

I live my dreams by following what everyone else drives and modifies here on oppo.
