We are in the very red blob on the right. And there’s nothing to suggest an end in sight...so we may go through another unseasonably warm summer without rain. That won’t be fun.

I haven’t washed my car for the exact opposite reason... it’s monsoon season in Arizona now so there’s random thunderstorms all the time. The rain here leaves white hard water spots so washing your car during this season is kinda pointless.

It’s time to invade New Zealand and take their weather

Australia wouldn't fit into New Zealand's weather. So it's not worth conquering.

I presume the lack of rainfall deficiency in most of the country is because it never rains there anyway?

About 4 hours north of Bathurst...
I lived in Bx in the late 80's and still have a few connections to that town. I think you'll like it.

Not exactly...it’s all a matter of timing...
Dead set...if we get another summer and autumn like the last one in this area (the coming Spring is going to be hard anyway) then South Eastern Australia (west of the Great Dividing Range) is going to be in real trouble.

Yikes! We were in a “drought” here in New England, which meant that lakes and rivers were like, 15% below normal and we had to run sprinklers to keep our garden happy. Then it rained on and off for a week straight and immediately people were complaining about the damp weather.

ok, the drought is bad, but has the government handed out 4 minute (which were mostly ~3.5minute) shower timers yet?

Groundwater is a slightly different kettle of fish in this game. Even so...it seems highly unlikely that the Carmichael mine that Adani is trying to get up will ever get up. Which is good.

Country folk don’t get those sort of hand outs. We get low interest loans and transport subsidies for fodder and de- stocking .
The city folk all live on the coast and none of them are directly impacted as yet...
