It will be a base model with the 10 speed auto, no performance pack because that’s the only inventory locally available. Ever since I test drove the new !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I have been wanting to compare it to the main competition. The reviews I have been watching/reading these last few days have been very positive.I am curious to in particular about this improved engine, and compare the visibility. Full test drive review tomorrow.

How often does it try to steer itself towards crowds?

I guess I’
ll have to reschedule my test drive and move it to the weekend to find out. Gotta sync it up with the local Cars & Coffee timings.

The visibility would be the main thing for me. My old S197 wasn’t fantastic in that area but it was leaps and bounds better than the Camaro and I’d like to know if that was still true.

From what I have read/watched is much better in the new one vs Camaro at least.

Depends on how heavy they are and the velocity at which you hit them leaving your local C&C

Really interested in the comparison with the Camaro. I’ve been window shopping both for a while, but with a heavy preference towards the Ferd. Curious as to how livable it feels.
How much effort does it take to drive casually (short trip to Target, etc.)? I s the visibility an issue? Is it easy to get in and out of? Are the doors so long you need to park far away from other cars to get out? Are the back seats for show or could tw o adults sit back there on a 4 hour trip? That kind of stuff.
Please and thank you

D uly noted. Although I will add the disclaimer that my feedback will come from a 45 min test drive, not a week long stint with the car.

Understood, I’m genuinely curious to hear any feedback you have about it. I’m too scared to go test drive one because I know I’ll buy it without considering how livable it is.

I haven’t driven the ATS-V , I drove an ATS 3.6 few years back and I loved it except for the tiny back seat, trunk and terrible CUE. I am positive I will not dislike the Alpha platform with a turbo V6 and more premium interior.

Are you actually considering buying one or do you just like to test drive cars?

I like test driving cars so that I am more informed when I give my opinion, and some because they are potential replacements (used) couple of years down the line.
I’ve always wanted a second cheap fast RWD weekend car but cannot afford one right now. Maybe I will buy a 2018 mustang 10 years from now when it’s like $10,000 or less, or a motorcycle. who knows?

I’ll answer based on the week that I had a rental ‘17 GT with an auto last year.
Effortless to drive casually. I was fairly impressed by the flappy paddles, I haven’t driven the manual but would love to compare. I don’t remember it being difficult to get in or out of, and I don’t recall the doors being an issue in parking spots. I’m kind of used to the huge doors on my Camaro, so take that with a grain of salt. Can’t comment on the back seats as there was just two of us. I was also very impressed with the trunk space. With the seats folded down we had 2 travel golf bags, 2 luggage/duffel bags, a back pack and other misc stuff in there.
... I’d really like a velocity blue ‘19.

Nice! Thank you! I’ve been looking at CPO GTs with the performance pack, but in reality I don’t think I’d need that. Just a big engine and some premium options to make road trips more tolerable. I really like the ruby red but know I’ll probably settle for something conservative.
There’s a documentary called “a faster horse” that chronicles the development of the latest generation. It’s a really cool look at all the planning and improvements that went into the car.
