I scored a set of ‘05 Yukon XL Denali seats this week! the second row buckets came from a Craigslister in Seattle, which worked our perfectly since I had to make a trip to Tacoma on Tuesday. The fronts came from a junkyard near my work. MonkeyB ST gave me some guidance on cleaning up the leather with easily obtained products. I installed the driver’s seat last night, and my butt was happy on the long drive home through Friday traffic today.
A MAJOR bonus to these seats is the built in LATCH child seat retaining system. The original ‘01 seats didn’t have it, and looping the seatbelt through the base of the car seat never really left the car seat feeling secure and solid. Also, they’re super comfy and the leather isn’t garbage like on my originals.
Also, I desperately need a new phone... This camera is cramping my style.
Bonus pic of muh Joop and Suburban from the roof of my house.

The good thing about GMTs is that if you stay within the relevant generation pretty much everything fits together like Legos.
Sometimes you can get away with parts from a newer/older generation.

There are a lot of subtle differences between ‘99-’02 and ‘03+. When I did the ‘03+ center console swap I had to make 3 trips back to the U-pull yard to snag parts I didn’t think I’d need in the beginning! I kinda wish I had held out for an ‘03+ truck. The improvements to them are quite nice, and with my ‘01 I’ve written off the idea of a Duraburb build because my only option is an LB7.

The hell that is the electronic range switcher on the Jimmy is... awful.
You can’t use modules from pre-facelift models in post-facelift models (full dash and electronics rework ,) and it seems like post-facelift models somehow have two different modules that are just slightly different enough to make the electronics do absolutely nothing at all except blink at you and leave it in 2WD.

Thankfully, I live in Oregon and I’ve only touched the 4wd buttons on one occasion . All the horror stories scare me.
The CANBUS electronics in the ‘03+ trucks is the only reason I’m glad I bought an ‘01!

It’s an iPhone 5. It’s barely functional and will be replaced as soon as I close on my house... ‘Spensive purchases are a bad idea for my credit currently!
