The second was Cheap Thrills.
I spent a lot of my youth thinking flailing like J ohn Belushi was a thing rock stars do.

He should never have parted ways with Leon Russell. That shit was magic. I still crank the hell out of his version of The Letter.

Leon Russell was too good for this world.
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

My mom’s best friend in high school married the bassist for Big Brother & the Holding Company, Peter Albin, back in the ‘60s . I remember frequently spending time at their A-frame house somewhere up in woods in Marin County , cruising around in their double-cab VW pickup with a giant pair of bright red lips on the front, lips that transformed into a smile when you pulled a cable inside the cab. Good times, good times.

If it helps, I’m more of a Partridge Family man when it comes to TV singing groups.

I was heart broken to find out that most of them didn’t play their own instruments. And they weren’t even related!
Still want that bus tho.
