Opponauts, I would like to get your suggestions for a car cleaning starter pack.
Please bear in mind, I am in Canada (aka snow Mexico). We don’t get all the amazing stuff on Amazon that y’all do in ‘Murica.
Also, I have a pressure washer I can use. Not sure how to use it or if I even need to....
Just stuff for a basic soapy wash and rinse. From buckets to sponges to drying cloths. And som e stuff for leather conditioning and interior wiping (leather and plastic).
Lemme hear it.

Oh! Pick me. I helped my sister in law and her fiance with this the other day. I too live in Canada (Vancouver).
This is what I use. You can get them wherever.
Starter pack: cloths, any automotive glass cleaner, mothers detailing spray, Turtle Ice wash/soap, Lucas tire and trim shine and finally Ice interior cleaner.

I’ll defer to Svend on all of this, but I like using Maguiar’s wax followed by regularly and liberal use of their Liquid Wax when I wash .

Dual buckets, grit guard for both really. High gloss soap, spray wax, detail spray, microfiber towels. If funds permit, synthetic clay pad from Griot's, comes with detail spray still I think.

Also, you’re going to want 2 buckets and a separate wash mit t for your car body and your rims (if that’s how you want to wash your rims).
Careful with the pressure washer. You may blast off more than dirt....

Pressure washer is great for heavily soiled cars (after snow season), use a foam cannon. Let soak, pressure spray off. Still dirty? Repeat, but boar's hair brush soap lightly before pressure washing second time.

a dirty cloth, a random bucket and dish soap is all you need.

If you’re near a Home Depot, check them out. They have a killer Chemical Guys starter kit that includes bucket+grit guard, and one or two soaps. CC and Adams Polish both have Canadian spinoffs if you need your fix, otherwise you can get decent Meguiars stuff from Canadian Tire/Partsource.
Avoid sponges, use anything microfibre you can. Be it gloves, mitts, towels etc. You don’t need an expensive foam lance from CC since you can buy the same item unbranded for 1/6th the price. Otherwise you can get by with just a normal garden hose sprayer with a soap bottle built in, for a few dollars from CC or walmart.
Pressure washer is great but totally unnecessary in most cases.

If you just want to get your hands wet stop at Canadian Tire and buy a bucket, a grit guard and a package of microfiber towels;

This is perfect timing because I was going to buy some cleaning supplies this weekend and I’m a proper cleaning novice.

I can’t find the Turtle Wax Ice Soap lol
Do you have any recommendations for specific foam/loofah things to apply the soap suds and wipe the cat?

The cat? As in catalytic converter? Just a wash glove if you want to wash it

Hi mate. I’m at work at present so can’t reply much but as long as you’ve got a good car shampoo, wash mitt, two buckets (one with a grit guard or similar in and a good drying towel, your golden.
Other stuff to look out for is a good all surface interior cleaner such as Gtechniq I2ab, which is an all surface (leather to plastic and fabric) anti bacterial cleaner, a good non scented non coloured glass cleaner (scented or coloured ones tend to leave more streaks or smears as they need to put agents in them to try and stop the smearing and streaking), a wheel cleaner is worth while also as is a brush to get in between spokes, etc...
