You know how I said the Buell’s PO fitted a car muffler? Well...I may have hit a Chicago crater pothole a little too fast.
See that thin little bracket connected to a clamp keeping the muffler in place?
Well upon impact it sheared off. No damage was done to the bike or the exhaust system, but the bracket’s arm is trashed. That’s really not a big deal to me since I thought the muffler’s mounting was stupid in the first place. The bike’s frame offers plenty of mounting options, and the muffler itself is just slipped onto the header pipe. Technically I could just fix the existing muffler. All it needs is a new mount and I can mount it better than the PO did for like all of a dollar.
Buuuut now that I have the knowledge that it’s a slip on, that means I can have a little fun on the cheap!
Motorcycle Oppos, what slip-ons would ya recommend? It looks like these bikes can sound pretty darn cool with the right kind of muffler. As of current, at low speed it sounds like a lawnmower and at high speed it sounds...well like a really loud go kart.

for the time being you could just get a cheap glasspack from an auto parts store, since it already has a car muffler on it. but ya ain’t really gonna get away from the “go kart” sound from an OHV thumper.

I have a glasspack laying around that I was going to use for the offroad build on Tucker. I may just slip it on and clamp it to the Buell. xD
Or just make a better clamp for the existing boring muffler, either way works.

You’re going to be limited by what is available, simply because nobody is making new ones any more .
Check the bigger distributors like Revzilla to see if they have anything on closeout, otherwise you may need to look at Ebay or forums for something used.

That bright red would look amazing. Make a relief cut in the end, clamp it on, make noise.

I’m still Miss Mercedes...though the smarts are no longer daily drivers. :D
And yes...I will figure out how to build a motorcycle out of smart car parts.

Thankfully my bike came with expensive customized Akrapovic (how do you spell that awful name?) exhaust, other wise I was going to throw cherry bombs on it. But TBH I bet ebay specials will do you well if you don’t want to shell out $$

I’ve been looking at eBay and I’m happy with what I see. :) If my glasspack doesn’t fit (I think the exhaust for the smart is a little bit thicker) I’m totally going that route.

Delkevic are good quality and cheaper. I have one on my Sv650
