What do I need to know about the 2015 Fiesta ST? Because I am 60% certain I’m going to look at this one on Friday. Any pointers? Am I nuts?

Coolant in 2 cylinders and the engine had to be replaced. They said that the coolant level sensor failed and caused the problem. I loved that little car and it served me well for 3 years. Buuut, the engine did die and I bought a Mustang.

They’re awesome cars. I love mine, and miss driving it so badly right now. (Tore my meniscus, can’t drive stick for another 4 weeks :( ) The only things I would suggest are Recaro’s if you fit comfortablely in them , they’re perfect for me, and too get the newest one you can get. There have been a few subtle updates to the car such as the wind deflector next to the mirror, minor suspension changes that help the ride and Sync 3. I might also avoid one that’s been modified too a certain extent. But if you just want a mostly practical car that's just a blast to drive everyday you can't go wrong with it.

I hadn’t met anyone who had the same issue but, Ford said it was a known issue and that they didn’t have a fix yet (May 2017). I did drive mine much harder than most, autobahn runs, track time, and general hard driving all over Europe and the US.

Damn I  miss mine, wonderful car. Ravenol fluid in the transmission is great and meets Ford specs. Recaro seats are amazing. I changed the diff (wavetrac) and added a pedal extender for better heel toe shifting. It doesn’t need more power, kw variant 3 would more than likely be an upgrade over stock in every regard.

It’s a 2015 so it may still be under powertrain but possibly. Still see if they offer a good aftermarket warranty anyway that covers electronics, especially the HVAC blend door actuators and the radio.

Before you sign anything, make sure EVERY function of the infotainment system works, that is, actually pair your phone to Bluetooth and male some test calls; put in a destination you know on the map and make sure it navigates there correctly; make sure AM/FM/Satellite stations come in clearly, and that the CD player works.

Check each function of the climate control: Make sure the heat is hot and the A/C cold (Fords have some of the quickest heating and cooling vehicles on the market), and that the heated seats work. Listen for any pops or clicks under the dash - especially the passenger side - when switching modes for which vents get air movement and at what temperature.

You may already know to do these, but these are the only “major” things I’ve seen on Fiestas in general at my shop.
