See if you can find the new parts:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Finished replacing my lines today, bench bled the new master cylinder. Still need to get the air fully out of the system, but I am waiting to let my front bleeder screws soak a bit before I try to remove em. I used this doohickey here by cardone:

Kinja'd!!!

I cant tell if it was easier or harder, since I’ve never done it the “right”

way. Seemed to work though. Made a fucking mess though. same price either way so it was worth a shot. Here is some more pics of why you should replace your brake lines:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Arent these a no-no for brake lines?

Kinja'd!!!

Snap

Also this bad boy here was missing a clip (I assume) when I took it off, so I might need to make another run for parts.

I bet that engine delete gives  you some pretty big weight savings.

I’ve done the master cylinder, calipers, and rubber lines. I haven’t done the hard lines yet.  I know they need to be done but they aren’t very corroded so it’s hard to make myself do it.

Oh, those aren’t compression fittings. That’s just a flare union. Those are fine. Very handy for when you have too much stuff in the way to maneuver  a full-length piece of  line.

Good to know. The rest of the line was sketchy so I wasn’t sure if that was factory.

I can wholeheartedly recommend pre-bent lines if you can get em. Saved me so much hassle it isn’t even funny.

I made sure to label everything. Don’t know how much good that will actually do. I feel like I lost alot of stuff even though it couldn’t have gone anywhere.

Now my damn springs are off. I’ll be lucky if I can find some that will let the car sit right after I convert it to horse-and-buggy.

Yep, that’s the plan. If I had to hand bend them the job would never get done. That’s one of the benefits of having a Camaro, lots of parts available.

I have to hand bend my fuel return lines but they don’t need to be close- they are all connected by decent segments of hose.

Looks good!

Flare union is fine. It’s not a compression fitting.

Also, if you didn’t paint the master... stop and do that. Really, trust me on this. After a little while it will look like a rusty piece of shit if it’s a natural finish.

I mean it's sealed. I can just flat black it on the car now no problem. It is a delco, shouldn't it be fine? The bottom has this grey finish, the lid could probably use painted.

Sealed? As in clear coated? Then you are OK I think. The cast part is what gets rusty. If it doesn’t have any coating on it it will rust.

I just had my mind stuck on flat blacking it, and I didn’t want to since it looks so nice. . Ill just hit it with some clear to be sure, that's an easy thing to do. Thanks for the heads up.

No problem. Cast blast works well too for any cast parts you want to stay looking “factory finish”.

Big thanks. I went outside and it already had rust spots. Brillo took care of it thank god. I'm going to send a very angry email to ac delco.
