I think there’s still a lot of life left in that aircraft. We’ll be flying the E’s for a long while yet, but I’d like to see more of the C dogfighters out there.

I still never understood (at least visually) how the 15 was more of a fighter than the 16
you would think the caterham of fighters would work the ZR1 of fighters but man the 15 is good. Even today its amazingly good.
To say nothing of the facts that
1. I never thought I would hear “F15" and “affordable” in the same sentence, but hey...this is the world we live in now.
2. the engineers would have KILLED to have the computing power necessary to make that promo video when they were designing it. Hell to PLAY IT BACK !

Jebus... talk about “air superiority” - interesting set up, drop tanks and as many AIMs as you could possible cram onto the air frame. Maybe escorts for for AC-130s?

So, we were driving through Death Valley last week and out of nowhere, we got buzzed by a jet banking hard over our heads - he must have been just 50' over our heads! It was amazing! Then, a little while later, we were at a canyon overlook, and another one comes tearing through the canyon - incredible! I just missed getting a photo of it. We saw a few others during our drive, flying at a distance.
Would these have been F-15s or F/ A-18s? Possibly both?
