A particularly popular trend in Eastside, one way people show off their wealth is by paying big bucks for products that look broken. In this example, we have laminated glass that is designed to look broken.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Lots of little details, even spidering shown from each mounting hole.

I once worked at a house in Kirkland where they used special (by special I mean seldom bought and expensive) “rustic bronze” hardware, which basically all looked like it was salvaged from condemned prisons. The cabinets also looked intentionally worn.

There’s big money in looking poor, I guess. Just seems dense. Is this an unfortunate byproduct of some fashion designers having runway models dress like homeless people at those big fashion shows?

I think it’s frosted glass taken to an illogical extreme.

If you paint your car rust color do you ever have to wash it? Or worry about the rust look?
My guess is they have kids who will break the glass soon anyway and it’ll just be less work?

I don’t hate the glass. The distressed cabinets and bronze on the other hand ..

Take a trip to restoration hardware one day, where you can buy ACTUAL broken furniture for exorbitant discounted prices!

Seriously I saw a cabinet missing very noticeable chunks of wood off the corners and was “discounted” to $2000, down from $5000...

Ah the wannabe edgy desires of otherwise textbook normcore rich people. I’ll guess the owner (or eventual owner) is either a no-questions-asked offshore type looter or the stereotypical shaved head mid level exec with a white Model S and Model X in the garage .

I like frameless deck rail panes, interior and exterior. Tough to keep finger print free, but they look so nice. These were all 1/2" thick...

My gf has fallen in love with the high-end “rustic” whitewashed furniture that’s for sale everywhere.

So I’m sanding down our old junk and painting it myself with $0.50 of watered down white paint. Win.

Kinda like how sneakers aren’t cool until they look worn.

See also: that super expensive flat grey paint all the m3/m4s have.

It's like primer, but nice.

Ya know how the rattle can “flat black” or matte gray color suddenly became popular?  I bet “unfinished” paint jobs will be sold for a $8000 option on the next BMWs.

Several months ago:

*Sounds of glass shattering*

“FUCK!”

“Goddamn , the whole panel?”

“The w hole thing!”

“Ok, I got it: we’ll do it to all of them, then tell him it’s s’posed to be this way. ‘Distressed’ or some shit.”

“Hell, couldn’t hurt to try.”

It doesn’t really look unintentional in this context, though, s ince it’s surrounded with fresh new-looking stuff.

“Distressed” style was a thing for quite a while and some people are still obsessed with it . I think it’s hideous. It did make it into my house in the form of cabinet knobs and drawer pulls, but luckily my cabinets themselves dodged that bullet. This particular example looks like some kind of deconstructivist post-distressed form, merging a modernist design aesthetic ( the perfect rails and stairs) with distinctively distressed glass (which would normally be clear here).

Wasn’t this style out at least 7 years ago? As far as I knew, t he only people still pushing it we re the “farmhouse” style people. One of the things I liked about my house was that it wasn’t straight garbage (because that’s all we could afford) and nobody had done the trendy faux distressing of all the kitchen cabinets like this. It was kind of the follow up style to the housing bubble style, where you made it looks shitty because it was cheap to do and hid your shamefully-outdated stuff.

That's why Premier Cruise Lines used to paint their Big Red Boats red. Blended in with the rust streaks, cut down on maintenance costs.

The house I just bought was previously owned by people that loved the country/rustic look. I’ve spent the past few months de-rusticating it - replacing antiqued bronze door handles with polished brass and lacquering the raw wood ba nnister, etc. Not my cup of tea. They also had wrought iron style switchplates.

It is potentially dangerous, but complies with code because it has conventional hand railing on one side. I think it looks great but wouldn't want it in my home without a proper top rail.

I think the spidering is a little excessive, but I kind of like it. Plain glass is just gonna get smudged up and show dust.

Although even if I had the money,  I wouldn’t bother with glass at all.

Let me explain the basic principle how most Forex systems work. They are tuned up to work in a specific market condition. They often make money in a trending market, but loose money in a choppy market. It is not a problem as long as the market is trending and the system is making more money than it loses. Such a system can be profitable for several months and you would be happy with it. BUT...

PREPARE FOR THE WORST...

Market change over time. A well designed system starts with trend analysis to stay away from potentially losing trades. There are two problems of how a Forex system recognizes the trend.

PROBLEM: FALSE “STRONG TREND” INDICATION.

The system responds only to immediate price action. An explosive price movement that is usually the result of news release is tempting people to jump in and make a profit. It looks like a “strong trend”, but what usually happens next is a hard fall.

To avoid falling into this trap, check for the SOLUTION to find a REAL trend:

==> http://www.forextrendy.com ?nsjjd92834

SECOND PROBLEM: TREND RELIABILITY

Most systems use various indicators to determine the trend. Actually, there is nothing bad about using indicators. One Simply Moving Average can do the job. The problem comes with the question: “Is the market trending NOW?” Whether the market is trending or not trending is not like black and white. The correct question is: “How well the market is trending?”

And here we have something called TREND RELIABILITY.

Trends exist and they can be traded up and down for a profit. You have to focus only on the most reliable market trends. “Forex Trendy” is a software solution to find the BEST trending currency pairs, time frames and compute the trend reliability for each Forex chart:
