It’s a good thing the Mazda’s infotainment system doesn’t control the brakes, gas or steering. Backing out of the garage this morning could have looked something like this:

2018 3 Grand Touring
Infotainment system went brain dead. The control dial gizmo would let me move to different items on the top level menu but none of the buttons worked. Clicking the dial thingy, clicking the volume knob for mute, touch screen, steering wheel volume up/down, etc...
Spooky part was it wouldn’t power off when I shut off the car. I had to turn the ignition back on then off to get the screen to power off. Even then when I started the car the screen powered right up but the rest of the infotainment system wasn’t rebooting.
Went out to the car at lunch to try forcing a reboot (hold down Back + Nav + Mute according to a Mazda dealer) but when I started the car the system booted normally and functioned just fine.
