They actually let me sit in it. NA V8, non-F-sport but sport package.

The interior of the LC is even better than I imagined. The front seat would like being cradled by a soft goddess. The materials were top notch. The black-on-red is probably my favorite combo on this. Oh God I want this.

Window sticker? $102,500

Salesman was super cool. I told him I was burning time while my car got serviced, and I could never afford a vehicle like this in a million years — but he still treated me like an actual customer.

We talked cars. He definitely knew his stuff. He lamented the loss of the GS, but said that apparently the new ES will be available with AWD for the 2019 MY. History of Lexus. The difference between a sport package and the F-sport. Stuff like that.

I... I think I might like the LS500 even more than the LC — Except no V8 !!! But still, what a looker.

After all that, I’m still happy getting back into my car. 7 grand is still much less than 102 grand, or so I’m told.

Sounds like a better experience than when a couple of us Wichitoppos went to our local Lexus dealership.

The salesman’s opening line of “You guys might be able to afford it between the three of you” did not go over well.

I “drove” the LC and LS a few weeks ago - at a Lexus event in Chicago. Sadly, it was in the rain, on a freshly resurfaced parking lot, with all the cars on summer tires.

It was a frustrating exercise in demonstrating how aggressive the traction control is in both cars. Sliding the LS500H F-sport around was kinda fun, though - and damn both cars were super comfy.

There’s currently no F-Sport model. The best you can do is the sport package which adds active rear steer and a limited slip dif. I’m partial to the Toasted Caramel leather interior. I drove one at a Lexus event last year and it was very nice. It’s definitely a big heavy car though. There’s no hiding the weight in the handling.

First most Lexus dealers I’ve been to are pretty cool like that. It’s a big part of the reason they sell so well. Second, I realize that people finance just about anything but I fee like if you’ve gotten to the point in your life that you’re even considering a new LC500, you probably are doing well enough to pay cash for it.

Mmmmmm YOU would only be considering something like this if you can pay cash for it but the lack of financial sense possessed by a lot of people can be astounding. Y ou get to see the nice things people have but no one is running around advertising how much crippling debt they have.

Although the stealth-wealth aspect of the LC500 means it appeals to older and wealthier people so you may be somewhat right in this case specifically, but not for a $100k coupe in general.

Oof this is why I wish we got our RXe s serviced at the Lexus dealer. We’re missing out on all that new/loaner car fun. I got a screw in my tire repaired at the Toyota dealer up where I go to school, and that was a treat. I sat in a 4Runner and Land Cruiser and was getting odd looks from a couple actually buying a car. I guess a college student playing around in an $85k vehicle will do that.

A guy I watch on YouTube and am sort of friends with works for Lexus, and a blue LC with a blue and orange interior showed up at his work. THAT is a cool color combo. These are neat cars, but I’ve seen a few around already.

If I was some bigly executive, the LC would be my commuter. I have this super irrational want for it. Like if someone put a gun to my head and made me choose between the LC500 and a GTR I feel like i’d choose the Lexus... am I secretly 80??
