Splinter feels way too charged, like an angry child screaming about the world.

I would rather find my news and information from valid sources and corroborate from the various different resources both from inside the States and in places like Europe.

I hate the fact that I do have to cross-check just about everything in the current day and age, though. Too many people trying to put their own spin on things, too many ways for things to be twisted by incorrect information.

Splinter isn’t a news site... most of their content is repackaged from other news sources. Deadspin and Jalopnik are the ones closest to being a news site and even then they can feel derivative at times.

The issue I think is that it’s hard to be unbiased, and when you are unbiased you end up being im personal to the situation. I think journos should pitch in a bit of personal opinion but only if it’s guided by facts.
