All day I’ve been thinking of Esmarelda Villalobos, the lovely and mysterious cab driver who picked up boxer Butch Coolidge in Pulp Fiction.
The damn film is almost 25 y.o., but I never bothered to look up the actor’s name.
Her name is Angela Jones.

Her ethnic background should be of no surprise since Hollywood was a different animal back then. But as the saying goes, there are no small roles. And she nailed it!!!
Speaking of surprises, I always love how everyone learned their favorite space marine of the ‘80's , Pvt. Vasquez, was legendary character actor (and frequently in James Cameron films), Jeanette Goldstein.

I still would love to go on a date with Pvt. Vasquez.
No small roles.

Pulp Fiction still has one of the most natural scenes of any movie... the royal with cheese discussion.

I love the way she says, “Butch.”
“Bootch.”

Ethnic crossovers are nothing new, great actors can pull them off.
Just look at Hector Salamanca from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. American Mark Margolis. He also had a role as a Jewish Ghetto leader in Warsaw in The Pianist, among tons of others . So diverse.

Wow creepy, I just watched PF the other night. It really is brilliant. And +1 about Angela Jones.
