So go watch it. And even if you didn’t, go watch it again.

one thing i don’t understand with the ‘Ring 24H race, why let the old BMW and Opels in?
surely they should be regulated out of it?

to me it seems strange for them to be still running around with all the latest and greatest Porsches etc.
they’re so slow, you see the onboard footage of the newer ones picking them off with ease.

They have their own class. I believe they’re too modern for the Classic Nurburgring races.

That is sort of the point of having a mix of pro and amateur drivers in vehicles dissimilar enough there is actual separation in the classes. I agree it can seem odd but it introduces some variety. Not every race needs to be the same.

They keep endurance racing accessible for normal people, so I can only applaud the fact that they are allowed. Sure, it’s still not cheap, but it’s doable for a small business owner, or a normal guy that can gather enough sponsors together, compared to top level endurance racing where only the very talented, or very rich, get or buy a seat.
Also, the classes of those cars are often pretty small (sometimes less than 5 cars, because they are filtered on things like engine capacity and the extent of modifications ) making it very close racing for a class win.

As already been said, they are in a separate class to the newer ones, plus the amount of viewers they get just for the foxtail manta could easily justify keeping it

Past GT3, GT4 and TCR anything is fair game. You can run what you have in this race, provided you pass inspection. This allows anyone with enough experience but little money to participate.
