Co-worker thought he saw a Ram that looked like Tundra, turns out it’s a 2019 Silverado LTZ in Cajun Red Tintcoat with the new 3.0L Diesel.
Diesel since both other engines on offer for LTZ trim are the new V8s which both feature rear exit dual exhaust.

Im excited to hear the numbers for this new diesel. Based on competitors I’m going to say 240/430 hp/lbs-ft.

Same. Should be an interesting segment, especially once Dodge starts selling the Ecodiesel again... Actually it would be good if they sold any engine other than just the 5.7 right now

They haven’t rolled out both theirild hybrid trucks either, which were supposed to rollout at launch with the 2019. The V6 is solely offered in hybrid form.

They had a shot to overtake Chevy as #2 sales truck and fudged it up pretty hard. Not the first FCA launch to jump the gun and over promise under deliver.

Who builds the new diesel? Was it designed specifically for the Silverado, or repurposed from some other application?

Probably Dmax and most likely bespoke (so far). If they can make it work in the GMT line (burbs and yukons and such) it would be a smart move.  great for government contracts and for people who need people and towing needs but want a little more economy.

It’d be nice if they could offer the diesel with a lower premium over the base engine.
