True, but that assumes that those 15% take the buyout, which they probably won’t, because buyouts usually suck. In my experience, buyouts usually are a mix of fantasy and trying to redirect blame. They’re probably not aiming for 15% of the editorial workforce so much as 15% of the editorial salary budget, which is going to work out to a lot more people lower down when the better paid editors don’t take it.
