Not sure if I feel bad for the motorcyclist or if it's just karma.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. We all take the risk, most of us are OK, some of us die, some us wreck and some get tickets.

I was kind of glad to be stuck behind all of the other cars since I definitely would have driven with the guy like an idiot for a bit. Although he was going much much faster than I would down that road, due to the cops and all of the residences along that stretch.

Just bad luck. I’ve had more than a few run-ins where I escaped by the skin of my teeth. Other times not so much. If you want to drive fast on fun roads, tickets are the entrance fee.

Karma. Maybe he should try using his signal next time.

Nope, he won that ticket.

No pity. Same way I wish someone would be around to ticket bicyclists for running stop signs.

I only saw 5 traffic violations during that video. Totally deserved.

Nah, was speeding and passing on double yellow, so got ticket.

Also, the song in the end for reference:

Oh LA SO! Not good! He’s screwed.

And he should be thankful. If he hadn’t gotten stopped he would have eventually gotten himself killed.

Won the ticket. Also, passing on a double yellow. If anything, pull over and let the slow cars create a gap.

You mean like the one that made an illegal left turn on red at a timed light, only pausing to let me through because he didn’t want to be TOO stupid, then passed me at the next red light while I stopped so he could run that light and the next ensuring that I would have to make my way around him a hundred yards further down the road?

Yes, I specifically mean that one. Flip him the bird for me next time you see him.

And also all the douchbags in my area who would never blow a light or sign while in their cars, but think the laws don’t apply to them once they get on their bikes.

Given that this is how every motorcycle I see drives, all the time, no sympathy at all

You could call it a “premium driving fee”. Once you get to that section of road it’s just stupid to speed, especially at rush hour. I’d rather just cruise at a slower speed and not end up stuck behind slow people right away.

That was my dilemma. He wasn’t doing anything SUPER dangerous compared to what I usually see people get away with Scott free. But it surely was still a bad idea.

yeah.. just speeding (tho after the white car he definitely went into speeding you wont get away with if spotted)

well... and he passed on double yellows... but.. motorbike...i dont think he was being particularly unsafe... but broke plenty laws (well... at least 2)

Yeah hopefully it’s a lesson to some degree. I don’t mind the motorcycles passing people like that but it’s a bad idea to do it so wantonly and at such a speed differential.

Those guys were going quite slow, about 40 in the 45 and that is the last section of remotely interesting turns but I never go more than about 60 when I’m being spirited. He was doing 80 easily.

Karma, he passed illegally and seemed to be overall driving like an ass. There is a time and place for fun driving, but ALWAYS obey the lines in my mind.

I feel like it’s slightly different on a motorcycle. There’s enough room in a lane for both a car and bike to fit without anyone ending up in an illegal space. While Lane splitting is definitely only legal on the freeway, it’s kind of the same concept here. But then again he was still massively speeding. I just wasn’t surprised to see that happen though since every motorcycle I’ve seen, does the same thing when stuck behind people. I suppose I’ve already become numb to the atrocious driving in LA lol

Haha no idea how you managed to pick that one up with such a short clip of it. I don’t even know the band all that well, since it was just my phone playing shuffle all. I have too many songs to remember what everything is.

I suppose. Maybe I am just a slightly more canciousns driver than most on a bike. There are times I squeeze a bit and thread to the front of stop lights.

Oh of course, I have no idea what its like to be a biker. Filtering and legal lane splitting are certainly safer than the alternatives when done properly. I would rather take the cautious route too and just follow the rules like you are talking about. I could see it become very addicting though which such a crazy power/weight ratio and fitting anywhere on a roadway. Maybe that guy will learn a lesson by getting a ticket and end up not dying in the future thanks to that.

Yeah there are times were being small helps and doing “extra legal” actions. Like last night I was allegedly in this horrible after work traffic and stuck two signals trying to get to my partner’s work before he got off so I took the bike lane to the right turn lane to get out of everyone’s way sitting in traffic. Allegedly

That would just be mean. If he had caused an accident of some sort, I definitely would have considered it though. The way I look at it getting a ticket for speeding is a fair and just punishment alone.
