No. Not because Monday. Because exhaust manifold has a leak. It looks like a bitch and a half to replace myself. Dealer just confirmed I dont need to yank the engine out... but... can I does it myself?

Anyone replace exhaust manifolds on 2005 Lexus GX470 or similar?

Everything comes down to time, patience, and money. I never have time, partial patience, and usually the money. Therefore most complicated things go to a shop. I’ve never done a manifold on any Lexus. Jeep, Nissan, Dodge, those yes. Each one wasn’t too bad. Soak everything really well. Do everything you can not to break a bolt. Good luck.

Access is typically a PITA on a V8, but it’s not too bad aside from that.

Thanks. I think this is the route I am going to go.

I was looking into performance headers but not many make them. I saw magnaflow makes them, but i dont know how much i want to dump into a 13 year old car performance wise. Otherwise, ill maintain the shit out of it

You should be fine with extensions, one of those elbow joint thingies could be handy as well.

4k is madness. I didn’t even spend an afternoon pulling them on my 351. Apply liberal coats of your preferred penetrating oil and use a good breaker bar.

It will be a lot less. I had dealership look again and proper. Manifolds are fine. Might have a tiny leak, but the noise is coming from busted pipe. Easy fix.

But yeah. They said they did one side on an LX earlier and it was 3200. Each side part is over 600. nuts!
