I burned through the whole first season. I liked it. But I have no basis to compare it to the original. Which is probably just as well. I’ll definitely check out next season too.

Watched them all over 3 days. I enjoyed it. Could not stand the Dr. Smith character, but that’s how we are supposed to feel about that character.

I tried and did not like it. I couldn’t finish the first episode. When she froze in the water, I rolled my eyes and switched to something new.

The 1st episode was a little too much. just so much happening in one episode. it tapers down as it goes on. Still heavy on the “one disaster after another” theme for the first few episodes but...yeah.

I do really want to check it out. But I’m so far behind on the TV shows I’m currently following (The Terror, Legion, Westworld, Archer, and Fear the Walking Dead), that I have no idea when I’ll actually get to it.

And for the record, I actually didn’t hate the movie adaption from the mid-90's. It wasn’t amazing, apart from Gary Oldman as Dr. Smith, but it wasn’t awful either. Even having seen it on TV fairly recently, it still holds up as thoroughly campy and cheesy sci-fi that’s fun when not taken seriously.

It got a little repetitive as they were in deadly peril every episode, and managed to fix it.

Also, Dr Smith was not very good. But then my reference was Gary Oldman in the movie, and who can top him?

But the pilot/mechanic was great.

I liked it. I kind of wish it was campier, like the original, but I guess they felt they needed something more serious.

Also, the whole point of the show, at least the original show, was to have some disaster or danger happen, then resolve it over the course of one episode with everybody coming out just fine at the end. Then some small longer-term plot bits thrown in. Basically Gilligans Island in space.

I quite liked it as well, it’s not AMAZING, but I certainly thought it was pretty well done! Looking forward to the second season!

Mrs. BaconSandwich and I have been watching it and enjoying it. I totally want to build myself a Chariot style people carrier.

There’s a few things in the show that are a bit hokey (e.g. fast freezing water in the first episode), but it’s still fun to watch with someone.

I’m stuck on episode 8. Up till then it was enjoyable. It was interesting seeing how they would incorporate the inevitable betrayal, but she pretty much gets caught so many times and they just let her get away with it with the vaguest excuse because it is a series and they can’t have resolution to quickly. My toes wouldn’t uncurl as she was talking to the boy from her cell knowing something would happen to set her free so I had to stop watching.

you just have to keep reminding yourself (and my wife) that we know ALL about dr. Smith, they only have fragments and pieces so their actions aren’t entirely out of line, even if they frustrate the crap out of the viewer.

Ice does not magically form in the middle of water spontaneously. It forms on the surface and builds downwards.

How did the snakes get into sealed fuel systems but somehow the ships were still safe and able to fly once refueled?

I know, I know, I mean I’ve been expecting his (or the huge curveball they threw of her) betrayal. I wish they would have not released her history, I mean take us for a ride like she actually is fine, then do a whole episode where it shows the ulterior motive. Like knowing she is a dick the whole time is just painful.
