02 Chevy Silverado, needs a starter (will start if you tap starter with a hammer), and... Engine needs some work. I don’t know if it was ran low on oil or what, but there’s some serious ticking. Work vehicle, my boss wants it gone. 100,000 miles.
Kills me to see it go, but the boss man isn’t very flexible here. What do you think this thing is worth? Rwd, v6, aside from the bad dent in the rear quarter panel the body is in fantastic shape for a work truck. Drives fine, but God only knows how much life the engine has left.

I love the look on the faces of non-car peeps when you “fix” their car by tapping on the starter. Like you’re a goddamned wizard.

When I was a poor grad student, I couldn’t afford a new battery. So I parked on whatever downward slope I could find (not easy in Houston) and clutch started it until I could afford a battery.

Does that truck count as FMR? Looks like the engine is entirely behind the front wheels lol

$200 and a pizza.
Seriously though I have no clue what to ask. Guy offered $850, and I’m leaning towards that. Almost want to buy it myself, drive it until the engine blows, then do a swap...

Uphill stops must have been nerve wracking

If it had a V8, $850-$1,000. With a V6, $8.50-$10.00.

My brother had a ratty ‘56 Chevy with a junkyard four speed with no reverse. He always had to park with an exit plan or get out and push. Mom made him sell it when he got caught racing. She had a point- he was in middle school. Ahh the good old days.

This would be a great start for a drift beater. Just cheap fun. But, I don’t have enough time or money for any of that. (Or space)

Never even really thought about it. Plus, Houston is pretty damn flat.

I’d take that twice on Sunday for a truck with known issues and a v6. I was going to say 5-600 in my neck of the woods.
