Option 2 may sell for more but it may not be more enough to cover the cost of the short block

Makes sense. I know money in doesn’t equate to money out. Just wondering if it would make worth less.

Depends on the car, probably - and what kind of shape that 150k engine is in.

If it’s in a Honda/Toyota etc. and runs well with no leaks, I’d *personally* lean towards A. Mostly because I’d worry about the quality of install and teething hassles on B.

But for the most part, B would sell for more, but highly unlikely that short block costs would be recovered, just as Nipples says.

Option 2. But no proof of a new engine being installed at a reputable shop might negate that.

“Oh no papers for the engine! Me and ma cousin Jimbo went by da pick n pull grabbed a motor from em and threw it in er! Runs like a dream and purrs like your mom after... Ha ha! Ooooh boy! Good times!!!”
