Anyone read the book Mortal Engines? I haven’t, but the first line itself if somewhat intriguing- ”It was a dark, blustery afternoon in spring, and the city of London was chasing a small mining town across the dried-out bed of the old North Sea.”

I’ve read the first two books. If I recall correctly, Peter Jackson is doing them. It’s an interesting setting, and it could make for an interesting film (or three, knowing Peter). I always pictured the main girl to be way more disfigured though.

Unfortunately all actors/actresses have to be beautiful people. Even if disfigured they must have awesome skin tone according to Hollywood code. We can’t think of remaking Meatballs today unless everyone has serious abs and perfect teeth. (opposite the original)
