The $600 examples are now $1200, and the $1400 examples are $2000. Also looks like less are for sale (based on my quarterly Bay Area Sc400 Craigslist browsing) I’m conflicted because I want their values to rise, but I also want to buy another one in the near-ish future.
The “$1500" example that would’ve been $700 A year ago:

The sc430s are what prompted today’s investigation, I was hoping they went down in value. Aaaaand turns out they’re still expensive

I’m not sure rising in value means anything at this price range. I think you just buy it and drive it. Whatever you get if you sell it is just bonus.

I really regret not buying an sc400 that was featured on Bring a Trailer once.
Now my friend has an Sc300 he’s tempting me with, but (un)fortunately I have no space for it.

This time last year there were 2-3 times the listings and like I was saying the prices were lower for what you were buying. So if they can charge what they do now then people value them more than they did a year ago. There arnt even any sub $1000 sc’s to buy anymore.

The Miata classified forums have maybe 20% of the parts for sale that they did two years ago. Low mileage NA’s are selling for 5 figures. Beat ones have doubled in value.... Craigslist selection has been thinning substantially.... I feel your pain.
