Don’t impose tarrifs on us, or you’ll never get the joy of these. I see them often in my area (Fort Langley) I assume it’s someone connected to the company. I kinda want to ask for a test drive...

To be clear, these are not vapourware, there is a small fleet already rolling around. Fully road legal (here).

I’d like to do a longer write-up on one at some point.

Honestly I’m a sucker for the looks, but at 20k... why buy that when you can get a Spark which has 4 seats? I’m sure there’s ways to get your cash back through the EV subsidies, but...

Here you only get 5k for buying an electric car. The only way to get more is if there is one of the 1000 spots left over in the scrapping program where you get 6k for scrapping your gas car, if you’re replacing it with an electric car. No idea who uses is, I can’t imagine there are many people driving a car worth less than 6k that want and can afford a brand new electric car.

I don’t know what programs there are in Maine, but being able to scoop 11k off a 20k car puts that cost firmly within decent used car prices, and would be tolerable.

That would be contingent on that 6k scrap bonus, however.

Yeah, since you get the 5k anyways, if you have a car worth more than 6k, it would make way more sense to sell your current car, so there’s really only a 5k incentive. Seems odd to me, but better than no incentive I suppose.
