what shouldnt be special, but is because Americans only tow with F450s

Kinja'd!!!

a neato burrito A3, with flat grey wrap, too big black wheels, and straight pipe.

I assume it was an attempt to replicate this more glorious Audi I saw a week prior

hmm... that little Audi sounds more like a lawn mower - which is too bad they can sound pretty cool.

Maybe it’s another Oppo doing a DOTS post like me the other day?

Kinja'd!!!

Nah, probably thieves. Hopefully not.

Most trucks towi ng here in Louisiana are of the F-150 variety. I’d also like to point out the towing options we use most often.

Unless you’re about to be foreclosed on or selling a car, no reason for someone to be photographing your house and car... Sad!

I’m almost surprised UHaul still lets you tow with a Civic. I suppose some locations will be less stringent than others, but when I went to get a trailer to haul my ZJ home, they wouldn’t even let me put it on a dolly behind my Jimmy because “the weight ratios are wrong”. Apparently the tow vehicle can’t be less than 80% of the trailer weight... Despite the fact that a base model ZJ on a dolly still weighs less than a 2001 Jimmy, and the ZJ on a trailer would still be under the Jimmy’s 6000lb tow rating. It was getting towards the end of the operating hours of that UHaul place before they were closed for the weekend, and it was the only one with a car trailer in a 200-mile radius, and I was on a pretty tight schedule, so I ended up shelling out to rent a 15' truck to pull it with. Needless to say I’m not hugely impressed with UHaul right now.

yeah, i dolly towed a civic home, it took an age woth their online configuratoror to get a vehicle that they’d allow me to tow with. Not sure what database they use, but it didnt jive with tow ratings of the vehicles O entered

I’ve always been able to select a tow rating for the vehicle in question, and playing with that has some results if you’re looking at larger trucks. But they’ve got some totally bogus weights entered in their system (which obviously they aren’t telling you what are) and if your towed combo exceeds that 125% of tow vehicle weight threshold (also totally bogus) then you’re done. Can’t do it.

I’ve had to mislead UHaul a few times to pull the Niva a because it’s not listed in their database so that’s what I did this time, but I guess the Suzuki Sidekick (similar size/weight to the Niva) triggered warning bells with this guy. I guess UHaul’s watching him pretty closely because that UHaul truck pulling a trailer with a ford truck on it hooked up to a fifth-wheel camper that made the rounds of the Internet a few years back was rented from his shop. Thanks, Grande Prairie.
