...they sold the thing before I had a chance to see it, even though we scheduled a meeting.
I then found this green one, but when I called the lady said that its clutch fell through. This is the first time in 18 years she had something like this happen. Just my luck.
Anyway she took it to the shop and it should be ready for me to see it tommorrow, complete with a brand new clutch.
Wish me luck, God knows I need some.

She outsources the installation of a new clutch on a car that she then tries to sell for €800? What’s the hourly price of a shop in Croatia? And for a backyard mechanic?
Take the car on a good test drive with a lot of shifting, in all gears including reverse. Many times. I once bought a car with a new clutch; it turned out it was installed incorrectly. It shifted fine during the short test drive but a day later troubles started. I had to get it re-installed, but this time properly. Cost: €700.

Sheesh, that’s a lot of money. I’ll make sure to test it well. We switched to friday instead of tomorrow.
The price on the screenshot is from before the clutch problems began, but she hasn’t mentioned anything about the price going up over the phone. Here’s hoping she won’t raise the price because of this. I’ll keep you posted, thanks for the tip.
And for the prices I’ll have to check with my mechanic buddy.

In my case it was mostly the hourly cost that made it expensive. It wasn’t a Twingo either.
